Within Dreamscape, reading comprehension is broken down into multiple sub-skills for the purpose of strategic instruction.
Gameplay first offers questions that require literal responses. These are questions that require students to demonstrate basic recall skills. The answers to these questions are usually found directly within the text.

With Dreamscape’s streak feature, students are rewarded for continuously answering questions correctly. Working towards maintaining a streak promotes healthy competition, increases engagement and motivates students to master new reading comprehension questions they encounter.
In Dreamscape, students must earn resources in order to customize their base and their gaming experience. This customization can only be achieved through answering questions correctly. As a result, their achievements give them agency in Dreamscape, which they can be proud of.
Our educator dashboard is continuously updated with realtime data to show how students are progressing in their reading skills through STEALTH assessment. Additionally, our in game leaderboard highlights game play progress and top ranking players for added motivation and engagement.
Students have the option to connect with other players via battles. Dreamscape’s battles give students the chance to visit their friend’s (or their teacher’s) base and develop tactical strategies to defeat the base.
