We hit the ground running this school year with the launch of Dreamseeker Drift, our action-packed endless runner game where players sprint, dodge obstacles, and collect rewards while answering questions powered by the Shoelace Learning Engine.
In light of the increasing focus on phonics-based ELA instruction in many schools, we introduced a collection of Decodables Assignments that methodically introduce basic phonics patterns, before gradually advancing to more intricate ones. This progressive approach empowers students to steadily enhance their phonics proficiency.
Over the past 12 months our assignment library has grown by over 600 new assignments. In order to support this growth, it was time for an overhaul to make it easier to browse, search and filter our catalogue so you can quickly hone in on the assigments that best fit your needs.
Dr. Kris Alexander, game developer, globally-ranked player, TED Talk host, professor of video games and proud parent of Shoelace gamers, joined us for a deep dive into the transformative power of gaming and learning. This illuminating series demystifies gamified learning, provides parents with guidance on at-home gaming, and paints an inspiring vision of the future of classroom instruction.
We work hard to balance boosting reading confidence, expanding player knowledge breadth and gently pushing them to try content at the edges of their ability. In January we launched an updated Placement Test focusing on shorter passages, allowing players to finish it faster. This is especially valuable for Shoelace Premium users who can reassign the Placement Test at any time to see how a player has progressed.
